Inspection, Testing & Quality Assurance for Used Medical Imaging Equipment
NOVO Imaging evaluates used imaging systems while they are still operational whenever possible, with a full technical test normally performed before deinstallation. Inspections take place at the hospital site or at NOVO Imaging, and are carried out by NOVO Imaging engineers or external certified engineers.
How Complete Systems Are Inspected
A used imaging system tells you the most about itself while it is still installed and running. That is why NOVO Imaging tests systems in their working environment wherever project conditions allow, before anything is disconnected.
- Tested in placeWhere possible, the system remains operational at the hospital or clinical site, and testing happens before deinstallation.
- Technical and functional checksA NOVO Imaging engineer or an external certified engineer performs a full technical test of the system.
- Findings are documentedResults are recorded as part of the system's QA and testing material.
- Evidence is retainedPhotos, video and relevant QA evidence are kept where available, so buyers can see the actual system that was tested.
- Faults are disclosedIf a fault or a failed check is identified, it is disclosed in the QA and testing material rather than hidden.
- Deinstallation and transportOnly then is the system deinstalled, packed and transported according to the project scope.
Why Test Before Deinstallation?
Testing a system before it is deinstalled has real advantages over testing after transport:
- It verifies operation in the system's actual installed environment, not on a bench.
- It provides evidence of the system's condition before transport.
- It helps document the system's condition and configuration as it really ran.
- It gives buyers better visibility into the actual used system they are considering.
Used Spare Parts from Tested, Functional Systems
Used spare parts at NOVO Imaging are normally harvested from source systems that have first been tested as complete, functional systems. The donor system is functionally evaluated before the component is removed — so a used part's history starts with a working machine, not an unknown one.
Where available, customers can review QA and testing evidence from the source system, including photos and video. This source-system evidence supports traceability and confidence in the used CT, MRI, X-ray, C-arm, cath lab, mammography and ultrasound parts we supply. Any additional evaluation of an individual component depends on the part and the project.

Who Performs the Inspection?
Inspections and tests are performed by NOVO Imaging engineers and/or external certified engineers, depending on the modality, the location and the requirements of the specific project.
What Customers Can Review
Depending on the equipment and the project, buyers can review:
- QA and test findings from the inspection
- Photos of the system
- Video, where available
- Technical and configuration information
- Any visible faults or failed checks that were identified
The exact evidence package differs from system to system — ask us what is available for the specific unit you are considering.
When a System Is Sold Without Installation
Complete systems sold without installation are sold AS IS, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Before purchase, customers can review the available QA and test evidence, photos and video for the system.
Where commercially and technically possible, customers can also request additional inspection — and when appropriate, NOVO Imaging can stage a system so the customer can inspect it in person before committing.
Installation & Warranty on Complete Systems
When NOVO Imaging is contracted to install a system, commissioning, working-condition obligations and any warranty coverage are defined in the applicable written Sales Order, installation agreement or service agreement. Extended service or warranty coverage of up to 1–2 years may be available under a separate written agreement.
See our installation and support services and the full Sales Terms.
Spare-Parts Warranty
NOVO Imaging's standard warranty on spare parts is 90 days, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Specific parts or projects may carry different written warranty terms depending on the part type, modality, condition and the commercial agreement. In a valid warranty case, replacement is normally the preferred remedy where appropriate. The applicable terms for your order are set out in the Sales Terms.
