How many slices do I need in a used CT scanner?
The appropriate slice count depends on your clinical applications, expected patient volume and workflow requirements. A 16-slice or 32-slice CT scanner may be suitable for many routine diagnostic examinations, while higher-volume trauma, angiography, cardiac or advanced studies may require a 64-slice or higher system. Slice count should not be evaluated alone; detector coverage, rotation speed, reconstruction performance, software licences and dose-management capabilities must also be considered.
How do I assess the condition of a used CT scanner?
Review the complete system configuration and available technical documentation. Important information may include the X-ray tube model and serial number, installation date, available scan data, detector calibration, image-artifact results, system error logs, software version, installed options and included accessories. The exact inspection scope should be stated in the quotation or sales contract.
Can the remaining life of a CT X-ray tube be guaranteed?
No. The tube installation date, scan count, exposure data, scan seconds and service history can provide useful information about previous usage, but they cannot guarantee how long the tube will continue operating. Buyers should confirm the tube's current tested condition and the contractual terms applying to it.
What site requirements should be checked before installing a CT scanner?
Site requirements depend on the exact CT model and installation location. Planning should consider the transport route, door openings, room dimensions, service clearances, floor loading, electrical supply, grounding, HVAC, cooling, network connections and radiation shielding. Shielding and infrastructure requirements must be determined using the system's OEM documentation and applicable local regulations.
Can NOVO Imaging provide installation and commissioning?
Yes. Installation and commissioning can be arranged when these services are included in the quotation and signed sales contract. Depending on the agreed scope and destination, services may include deinstallation, professional packing, transport coordination, rigging, installation, calibration, commissioning and acceptance testing. Services not expressly listed in the contract are not automatically included.
Does a used CT scanner include a warranty?
No warranty is included automatically with a NOVO Imaging CT scanner. A warranty applies only when it is expressly included in the signed sales contract together with installation. The contract must define the warranty duration, start date, covered components, exclusions, labour terms, travel costs, geographic limitations and response conditions. X-ray tubes and third-party equipment are not covered unless specifically stated in the contract.
